Model F27625 w/ Gemstar and on board tuner. Thought this was going to be an easy one. Unit came in with broken cable/antenna input connector. Soldered the connector back in, repaired the broken trace that it was attached to. Now the set has no video or sound, just a noiseless raster with the words "unusable signal". Checked the I.F. coming out of the tuner and it appears to be fine. I can't find an "autoprogram" in the menu. By the way, external audio/video in and OSD works fine. I ran Chipper Check on it and it says the main EEPROM is OK. I pinged the Gemstar and got an error message "U26401 did not respond on the standby bus". Hitting the error codes button produced this message, "Code 16 Run I2C clock or data is clamped at logic 0. So, along with the CC info, I can't find anything on the menu to autoprogram the channels. According to the owner's manual, that function should be available right after selecting the language option. Instead, the setting up the Gemstar option is there. Am I missing something here or is it a EEPROM, Gemstar, or T-chip problem? I have a partial schematic but it doesn't cover any of these circuits. Also the customer says they received it second hand that way and that the previous owners had used the aux. inputs. Thanks, Jon Garver Heritage Television Service 204 Heritage Rd.
