RCAs in general look for the H Sync pulse at the micro when the set is
either tuning or autoprograming. No H Sync, no memory storage. Also, RCAs
tune pretty fast, normally .5 sec or less. If the H Sync is not at the
micro this tuning time extends to about 2 seconds.
Therefore, if their are no channels stored in memory, and the tuning is
slow, you are probably loosing the sync pulse somewhere between the T chip
and the micro.
The path for the ctc188 signal is u2002p56, q3101 smd, u3101p38.
I don't have the ctc189 book handy, but that is probably correct. If not
let me know and I will chase it for you.
