Phil, when it comes to power semis, I do not use sk or nte. several years ago I bought a batch of SK 2SD1885's, and not a one of them worked properly in any chassis I put them in. I only buy those devices from Prelco, Nesco, or B&D, hth. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Phil Bader" <tjanphyl@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, May 17, 2004 3:47 PM Subject: [TechAssist] RCA 35" G35830WK, CTC169JA5 HOT shorted again after sweep kit,etc > Came in dead with the 2SD1885 HOT shorted. > With this, my fix is usually a "scan kit" I put together including: > 2SD1885 > C4401, .0162/1600v, 206009 > C4402, .056/400v, 200149 > C4403, .5/250v, 200150 (orig was a .48mfd) > C4406, 470pf/2kv 227068 > CR4401, 242907 > CR4402, 243636 > This usually cures a shorting HOT. > I also, for good measure, changed CR4118 and three lytics in the smps: > 2.2mfd,15mfd and the 47mfd (orig. was 39mfd) > Unit powered up with beautiful picture and played OK.
