I have had trouble with the T-chip (video processor). If you hit it with
some freeze spray it will probably act up. You may also notice a sudden loss
of sync when a bright flash accurs on the screen like head lights coming in
direct view of  the camera in the dark.

I have seen this 5 or 6 6 times, maybe yours is one.
