Subject: [TechAssist] Quasar VV2016W excessive head speed
This Quasar VV2016W TV-VCR combo came in dead. Found Q523 (2SA564) shorted.
Replaced with ECG 290. That restored power up function. TV mode works okay.
Now when I insert a tape, it loads completely and begins to play, however, the
video head (drum) spins at excessive speed and the vcr shuts down after about
half
a second. Then pushing any vcr function button has no effect. Have to power
off, then power up to eject tape.
Any help on this one?
