I would NEVER advise anyone to use a Q-tip on video heads.
Maybe you are experienced enough not to damage the heads, or just get lucky,
but
you always run a risk.
You can safely use chamois swabs or even the edge of a business card or plain
white paper in a pinch, but never cotton swab, especially the cheap ones that
are
not wrapped very tight.

Q-Tips to clean video heads, ROLL the Q-Tip across the video head. Don't
drag it across the head gap, as cotton will stick in the head gap.
