We actually had a customer on off-air antenna that had the problem as well.
He could not tell us what channel he went to to cause the problem. He's had
it back a week now with no more issues. Greg

More information:
Yup, the 1uf/50v cap from pin 15 of the micro U13101 to ground DOES fix
the loss of audio problem and DOES disable the closed caption and DOES
NOT disable the guide plus. MAYBE! We tested this "fix" on two CTC203
sets and kept one tuned to the Spike TV channel on Comcast Cable for a
couple of days, the sound DID NOT quit and the TV Guide DID download.
The other set was on an off air antenna and the TV Guide also downloaded
ok on that set.

What still bothers me is the old information before the recent increased
activity of the problem always pointed the finger at the TV Guide
download and now it is pointed more at Spike TV. Could it be that we
actually now have two different causes and actually two different but
similar problems? If this is the case maybe the cap will only fix the
Spike TV problem and we may still have the old TV Guide problem even
with the cap installed.

I am still reluctant to tell customers that this is a sure fix. Any
other opinions?
