I learned about it from Pioneer tech support when asking if the problem was the same on a set that was still in warranty. He gave me the new part no.xxxx180, and said that if I ordered the old IC(from Pioneer), that I would get the new one. From that, the answer is yes. I just did a SD-P50A3-K and used the new chips. Barely had to retouch the convergence. From now on, I'll order only the xxxx180's. Wonder why it took them about 8 years to figure this out??
