Don,
I'm afraid you misunderstood me. I wasn't saying that MCM carried
Pioneer motors. The same with the other people who suggested Global,
etc...
What I said is that MCM carries a good number of REPLACEMENT motors for a
<lot> less than the cost of the original. The most expensive motor in
the lineup is $6.99. But, you must know a few facts to pick the right
one, like single- or dual-speed, applied voltage, and shaft length. If
you have the MCM catalog #44, see page 182.
The cost of original parts makes many repairs a practical impossibility.
Today, I priced a cassette loader for a Sony VCR at $80.00. That's my
cost and does not include s&h. It took my VCR tech almost two hours to
repair the original, but it was the only option, since I had no junker
with that carriage.
