Gary; The speed the fuse opens is critical in some circuits.(pico) The Vertical circuit for the Toshiba you were working on probably OK to use Regular fast blow. But that circuit calls for a 500ma fuse, not 1 amp. I don't advocate changing characteristics of circuits, but in this case, should be OK. But you didn't hear it from me. Good Lawd...this will be on Google for years to come. No....I do not recommend it. I kill me.;-) -Ed- Ed Gaidies Tel-Tek Electronics Ontario-Canada Servicing the Consumer Electronic Industry since 1963 teltek3@xxxxxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: techassist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:techassist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Gary McCartney Sent: Friday, February 20, 2004 2:04 AM To: techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [TechAssist] Pico fuses VS regular glass fuses I have a Toshiba TV with a blown 1 amp pico fuse feeding the vertical output supply. I don't have any pico fuses. Can I use an ordinary fast blow glass fuse in it's place? What are the general properties of a pico fuse? Is it just the physically small size or are there other factors involved? Thanks. -- Gary McCartney McCartney Electronics Guelph Ontario Canada Est. 1984 email: gary (at) number63.ca ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- Lost Password: http://www.tech-assist.org and select "Login Problems?".
