Never had to replace the EEPROM and never was aware of it causing that problem. These sets MUST be aligned with a special template (for your 55" set, it uses template Philips part# ST4162) that goes over the screen. There are also special procedures for doing geometry and convergence alignments, therefore I have taken the liberty of creating a PDF file and uploaded it to the members area as "PTV840 Geometry and Convergence Alignment Procedures.pdf".
