Steven,
I just had a 13" Magnavox TV/VCR combo with a very similar problem. Unit
would play a tape OK, but with no tape in unit it would try to load a tape
and then shut off after it cycled(approx. 5-10 seconds) The problem was one
of the tape end sencors. By shining a penlight flashlight on the defective
end sencor the unit would stay running, soon as you took the light away it
would attempt to load a tape and then shut off.

                                                     Webster's TV
                                                     Shullsburg, Wi.
