1. moving yoke back can almost get a good purity alignment.
2. tipping crt of smacking it has no effect.
3. manually degaussing can only change purity, not restore it, auto
degaussing has been disabled. No droppie or lightning.
4.Rotating yoke with color bars caused a normal picture for awhile.
5. adjusting screen caused set to go into shutdown and changed purity!
6.compared to manual on hand for a TP3285C121 and noticed EHT_info is
changing in voltage to crt. Suppose to be 13v or 1.9v (this print has both).
Both model sets use the same board, but on the 27" get the supply voltage
from flyback for vertical instead of from main supply as a reference point.
7. Was just studding crt panel print and EHT_info (hear it is 13.3v-25.4)
goes through 2 22 ohm resisters to Aquadag ground on the crt. #3345 a
varister isolates it from main chassis ground it seems to be around 24k.
8 Does anyone have the correct prints for crt and deflection before I go
nuts? a 27L800-7603
Mitch

Subject: [TechAssist] Philips 27PS50 27L800 chassis poor color

Told the customer that the crt appears to be bad, even though it is still
under factory warranty. He said send it to the land fill. Thought I would
fire it up one more time, like always to see if I was thinking right.
I don't have a print on this but I don't see how the crt can be bad because
if the shadow mask was loose it shouldn't change color wise.
When put it on video 1 does have a pretty 3 color effect with green on the
left blue in the center and red on the right, BUT if bring up the Menu bar
the color is blue on the left red in the middle and green on the right
inside the bar. Or even the volume bar which is suppose to be red? is red in
the center with the blue back ground but on the right with the red
background it changes to Green. I don't see how a shadowmask could do this.
Any one have any thoughts?
