Bil: My hearing is screwed up. I roll off at 7 Khz so I do not remember any buzzing or squealing from the yoke. But certainly if one of the ferrite cores is loose or fractured I can believe that it will buzz or squeal. The loss of your convergence is probably a collateral effect of a defect in the deflection yoke.
