Avery,

CTV and Projo Service Mode, Chassis AMEDP, APEDP, AREDP


  1.. With set on, select setup. Switch to cable,(if it's already in cable, 
switch to ant,
then back to cable.)
  2.. Press action and go to timer, select greater than 30 minutes, action out, 
enter 124.
  3.. Press volume down on TV to zero volume, a red check should appear, you 
may select an
active station or video input at this time. If you think the adjustments will 
take longer
than the time set on the sleep timer, go into the menu and turn it off. Failure 
to do so may
result in the set powering down.
  4.. To toggle between Serviceman and Aging Modes press ACTION and VOL UP at 
the same time
on the control panel.
  5.. The set is now in the Serviceman mode.
  6.. Press power button on the remote to select one of the five Serviceman 
Adjustment
Modes.
  B = VCJ Sub Adjustments
  C = VCJ Cut-off Adjustments
  S = Options, (PIP and clock adjustments)
  M = MTS Adjustments
  CHK = Normal operation of Channel and Volume controls
  7.. Channel Up/Down will change the register and Volume Up/Down will change 
the value.
  8.. Write down the initial settings before you adj anything in case you want 
to put them
back.
  9.. When you are finished you must exit the service mode by doing a soft 
reset. Press
action and power on the TV for about 5 seconds. The screen will blank and then 
OSD will show
all that has been checked by the micro. The set is like out of the box, and all 
customer
settings are gone.


CTV METHOD 2, some other models

  1.. Short test point FA1 to cold ground FA2 (A-board: TP pin 8 to pin 3)
  2.. Receiver is in Aging Mode with yellow 'CHK' in the upper-left corner
  3.. Press ACTION and VOL+ simultaneously on the control panel and 'CHK' 
should be in red
  4.. The set is now in Serviceman Mode, press POWER on remote to select one of 
the five
Serviceman Adjustment Modes:
  B = VCJ Sub Adjustments
  C = CRT Adjustments
  D = Pincushion Adjustments
  S = Options Adjustments (PIP and clock)
  5.. Press CHAN UP / DOWN on remote to select an item
  6.. Press VOL LEFT / RIGHT to adjust
  7.. To exit service mode hold Action and Power buttons on the TV for 5 seconds
CTV METHOD 3 TX-W28R3 (and similar models)

  1.. Set BASS to maximum position, set TREBLE to minimum position
  2.. Press REVEAL on the remote control and at the same time press VOLUME on 
the TV. This
will place the TV into the Service mode
  3.. Press the RED / GREEN buttons to select an item
  4.. Press the YELLOW / BLUE buttons to adjust
  5.. Press STORE on the preset panel after each adjustment has been made to 
store the
required values
  6.. To exit the Service Mode, press NORMALIZATION
CTV, Some Models, (CT27S18C)

Using original remote, press action and volume up buttons at the same time. 
Press power
button to select modes.
