D825 R2KL (140v cascade diode) many times shorts can indicate that C820 (next to regulator) went bad usually shows up as a short in the B+ though. Not powering could be the capacitors in the regulator circuit, bad connections, a bad regulator STR58041A. Have seen lighting cause a shorted micro that loads the 5V supply. sometimes caps or other parts fail in the 5v standby. Note on regulator must use the A variant NTE part in my experience doesn't work in this series set.
