[TechAssist] Orion 13" TV1329 dead, HOT shorted

Ultra cheapie! Other than the shorted HOT Q401(D2599) no other shorts or
opens found.Replaced the HOT and did a "load test" with my Sencore
HA2500 horiz. analyzer.Results: "limiting..." meant excessive HV
loading.Unplugged yoke,problem gone,good load test. Rang yoke,Bad. Saw
darkened areas on windings.
Bad yoke destroyed the HOT.
Found a 13" Memorex TVCR yoke,same appearances and ohms.Plugged in
exactly.
Re-did load test...Passed.
Installed yoke,reversed vert wires.Works.
Picture now fluctuates with brightness variations: Open regulator
resistor R503 (1.5 ohm,2W) front of the STR30110. Replaced resistor.
Powered up,ran good 30 seconds,went out.
HOT shorted again.
Must consider the source...Orion...$89.00...
Even McDonalds can't make hamburgers outa horse poop..
