i like XP, it boots and shuts down much faster than 2000 for me.
2000 uses more resources for network security and user 
passwords, etc.

it may not have as much security but i am the only user.
i like the speed of xp on a 2 gig machine.
i have 4 computers networked and working great.
just my opinion.
