Hugh,
Try this.
1. Turn TV on
2. Press MUTE on remote
3. Press MUTE again and hold while pressing MENU on TV
4. The letter S will appear on the screen to show that the set is in the
Service mode
5. To select the adjustment that you want to change press CH+ or
CH -
6. Press VOL+ or VOL- to adjust
