Tks for the i/p Jerry,you put me in the right area.On the large worm gear&PR
assy,there's a plastic spring loaded slide gear that was cracked,thus
unableing the cam gear to fully seat in the load/down position,which
probably also puts the mode switch in the wrong spot to enable
''tape-load''&play cycle.Replacing it and problem cured.The black graphic
grease was hiding the crack.Tks again Jerry & to all for there i/p's on this
unit....Don........
