Check the CRT socket spark gap for carbon tracks or corrosion.
The socket is a special size and is NLA from Mitsubishi.  
The bad socket will usually have focus problems, startup or
shutdown problems.  Had one about a month ago and that
monster went to the landfill because of NLA parts.
