This set has been a nightmare. Came in first time for "dark picture and
buzzes." Replaced 20-25 bad caps. Sent home. Two weeks later, back for
"Takes a long time to come on."

When power is pushed, power relay clicks, then pulses. By that I mean
click..click..click. Starts out at about one second intervals. This
interval decreases--the clicks comes faster. After 30 seconds or so, set
stays on, picture perfect. After on for a few minutes, set turns off and
on at will. Unit must be left off for some time for the problem to
happen again.

Feel like it must be a cap in the power supply, but can't find it. Have
ESR'd all the caps on the deflection/power supply board, found two more
bad, but no change. I have resoldered the board and cleaned it from old
electrolyte leakage. Have no print. Maybe the standby to the power
relay is low. Real tough set to work on.

Hope someone has a clue.

TIA,

Ken Smith
