Here are some possibilities:
Dark picture with lines
CHECK 220V SOURCE FROM PWR SUPPLY TRANSFORMER T905. IF LOW OR MISSING,
SUSPECT LEAKY/SHORTED C927 (47 UF 350V). LOCATED ON PCB-DEFL IN 220V POWER
SUPPLY OUTPUT CIRCUIT.

Could it be adjacent channel interference?

TO MINIMIZE ADJACENT CHANNEL INTERFERENCE APPLY THE FOLLOWING: A. REMOVE
L109 (0.68 UH COIL). B. CHANGE R105 FROM 330 OHM TO 680 OHM. C. CHANGE R106
FROM 18 OHM TO 68 OHM. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO THE PRECEDING CHANGES, PERFORM
SUBSEQUENT ADJUSTMENTS PER SERVICE MANUAL: A. VCO FREE RUN B. RF AGC C. AFT
* IF PRECEDING ADJUSTMENTS FAIL TO ACHIEVE ACCEPTABLE RESULTS, OVERALL VIF
ALIGNMENT IS REQUIRED

Or maybe even,

DARK PICTURE AND HAS REDUCED HORIZONTAL SWEEP.CHECK R552 (220 OHM 3W) ON PIN
4 OF T552.LOCATED ON THE DEFL-PCB.

There is no mention of a PIP module problem on this set that I saw.

HI all,

I have a Mitsubishi model # CS-35FX1 that has low video level (ie rolling,
tearing, etc. )

It looks like a bad PIP module, except that this doesn't have the old module
that I'm used to. Does anyone have any ideas for quick fixes on this?

I'd like to avoid bringing this in.
