Subject: [TechAssist] Missing HDTV programs

> Hello all,
> Trying to figure out if the dish or the DM-1 receiver is at fault in this
RCA P61310jx2 HDTV.(chassis # DTV307GA). I can get off air channels and the
basic satellite channels to come in well, but when we try to get the HDTV
channels (ESPH #73 or DSHD #76) we get the banner coming on the screen but
no video or sound.
> Checked with Direct TV and he is authorized to receive this signal, they
also checked his access card and it is valid. The DM-1 receiver was changed
because he plugged in his satellite cable(yes, his cable) to 120V AC.
> WHY?
> I don't know why.
> And I don't know how he did it. All I know is he burned up two set top
receivers, the DM-1 and the LNB's. His is an oval dish with 3 LNB's which he
installed himself.
> Is it possible the dish is at fault, or the DM-1, or possible further down
the line.
