Magnavox, 1996 year,model TP2783C101, ch# 27V505, dead.
PLug it in, hear the smps oscillator SLOWLY go up in frequency.Not the
usual quick chirp heard. No power otherwise.
Fix:
In smps, replace C420 (220MFD@ 16V).Open.
Tech then had bright screen with retrace, and shut down.
Simple: he accidentally unplugged a plug to the CRT board, probably
supplying the 200Volts DC to CRT. Reinserted plug, all is well.
The 220MFD /C420 cap was the fix.
