I turn known none-repairables away at the counter. They and their friends
bring in their repairables because they remember the pleasant experience of
not being charged for a no-repair. There is another camcorder/vcr servicer
in a city about 30 miles from here. People from there bring stuff to me.
When I ask why they didnt just take it to the local guy, they say that they
dont like to do business with them because of a previous incident of being
charged for a no-repair, or because a friend told them about a similar
experience.
We do charge for diagnostics if we accept the item and it turns out to be
economically none-repairable.
