It's a blue laser actually.
The advantage is more storage, as blue is shorter
wavelength than the red now being used.
The dis-advantage is that they will be totally
incompatable.
Read in a magazine some time back that Toshiba was
working on it, along with some others.
Couldn't get my guys at Toshiba to admit any
knowledge of it, and really haven't heard anything
else.
