Now...there's a good thing to know.
The lamps are now called a "consumable item".;-)
Another case where the unsuspecting customer gets Royally screwed.
These Box Stores just love selling that Extended Warranty, now I wonder
how many Customers will ask, and how many Salesman will know that.
Just advised one of my customers yesterday, when they called me, and
wanted to know what the best was. When I mentioned the bulbs, he said,
well "How much are Bulbs"..$4 or $5 bucks. NOT.
Was up to Radio Shack the other day, snooping. Saleman tells me Sony is
actually packing extra bulb with some models. Oh Oh.;-)

Odd that you should ask that question. I just finished reading an
article on that written by Joe Sopko in the June, 2004 edition of "The
Speaker." (I'm a little behind on my reading!)

The article warns that many ESP's (Extended Service Providers) & TPA's
(Third Party Administrators) won't pay you for lamp replacement, because
it is considered a consumable item.

It further warns that you could end up losing the price of the bulb,
labor, and service call if you go out on a call, replace the lamp, and
expect to get paid.

Thanks for the heads up, Joe.
