Cause: Discharge From Crt To The Heat Sink Of Q600, Which Is Floating, Causes An Arc To Ic600/Pin18. This Arc Can Short Out Ic600 And Opens R640 Located On Ic600/Pin 18. Note: Q601 Might Also Fail Resolution: To Prevent Failure Of Ic600 Please Add The Following: Connect A 100k Resistor Between The Heat Sink Of Q600 And Ground. Also Remount R628 In Ground Leg Of Vdr601 As Shown In Picture Attached. This Countermeasure Was Placed Into Units Starting From July 2002 Production.
