I agree with your thoughts, LCD and Plasma will eventually become the norm.
Building debugging tools should be easy enough, its already already digital!

Sounds like an excellect idea but the future is no CRT's so it doesn't
make a lot of sense to go into major design cost for a system such as
that. They would have to charge mega bucks for each unit sold and we
wouldn't have enough time to pay for it before there are no CRT sets
left to repair. My thoughts on it anyways.
