Ed,
First thing I check is the voltage reg in power supply.
Also, older JVC's were notorious for their ICP's.
These are obviously marked on the PCB.

Anyone have anything in their database for this VCR. Dead...No Display. Came
in with tape inside unit. Voltages seem to be there, but not sure since I
