Check continuity between ic pins and the foil leading away from each pin.
Chances are you have cracked the foil right around the pin when you
unsoldered the IC. Hollis

 Hi Gang,
Every once in a while you get a unit that refuses to be fixed no matter
 what you try.
This unit is OK except there is no output from vertical chip. Uses a LA7845
vertical output. I have vertical drive going into pin 5 of 1 v. PP. There is
no output. All voltages on chip are OK except pin 7 the pump up pin. It is
at
 29v. instead of 1 volt.
I have swapped out every part except resistors. Checked resistors with out
finding problem. Original problem was blown La7845 and the 3.3 ohm series B+
resistor. Replaced these and still no vertical deflection. Yoke measured bad
on sencore so replaced it. What the heck could possibly cause vertical chip
not to work. Voltage on IC are as follows pin 1-0 pin2-17v. pin3-29v. pin
 4-2.0v. pin5-1.2v. with 1v. vertical ramp. pin6-29 v. pin7-29v. Open to any
 constructive criticism.
    Thanks in advance, Briant
