Just found more on this problem---the colored lines do not show up when 
I feed in a component HD video signal, on 3:4 or 16:9 either one.
Lines only show up on regular RF input signal or composite video input.  
Problem must be in regular video process chips and circuits.
Thanks for your input, this set does not have Magic Focus.
