If this has PIP, pip caps can get leaky.
Check if there is a service switch located near the Video jungle, sometimes
they can go bad.

There are some SBs about Horiz/Vert problems but not exactly with your
symptoms....you can pull the chassis, front panel, and the CRT assy rather
than taking the whole unit.....easier to handle BUT make SURE you bring 4 to
6 DIFFERENT colored permanent markers and MARK the plugs/connectors....mark
the HV anodes with a I , II, III from left to right too so you know which
hole the connectors go into.

Then switch to [TechAssist-B] for more details.....

Subject: [TechAssist] Hitachi 43FWX20 Horiz. Sync Loss

> Hi All,
> Back in the hills I don't see many of the Japanese's TV sets,so I do not
have a manual on this Hitachi and little experience on the brand. So
hopefully so of you have had this problem before and can give much needed
advice on the problem. It's Hitachi Model 43FWX20, The problem: It app-ears
that the Horiz. sync is gone and maybe the vert. sync also . nothing I do
changes anything, this problem just appeared with no warning I'm told. The set
is up on a shelf that it will just go in , I will have to take a man or two
with me to get it out. I f there is anything I may be able to do then and
there please give me let me know. For this thing is up stairs and I really
don't want to carry it up and down stairs, there hard wood and I am getting
to old for that.Don't need another back problem. So any check or possible
repair I can make there shure would be of help and appreciated.
