[TechAssist] HD generator solution?

Has anyone had any experience with the Roku HD1000 Media Player?
I have been looking for an option for generating test patterns from a
notebook computer for HD but all none of the HD cards are available for this
application. This unit looks like an easy interface via 100mbit ethernet
for displaying HD. It could make a cheap signal generator with a computer
for a source.
