You can reset that gemstar module by removing it from the set and taking the board out of it's metal case. There is a backup cap/battery (.047f or something like that) that is used for memory retention. Take it out of circuit and discharge it through a 4.7 ohm resistor. Make sure it reads zero volts before you re-install it. When you power up the cap will recharge itself.
