Dear Philip; This Unit sounds like the smps may need to be rebuilt.Suggest you remove the Main Transistor Q801 and test it out of circuit. Also check the Diodes (and Capacitors) in the Secondary of the transformer circuit. There are several Power Supply Rebuild kits now available, might be a good idea in this case. -Daniel --- Philip Bader <philbad@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > > -------- Original Message -------- > Subject: [Fwd: Vcr, RCA VR678HF (fcc# G954255195) > dead,P.S resistors > I.D.] > Date: Sat, 08 Sep 2001 11:19:52 -0400 > From: Philip Bader <philbad@xxxxxxxxxx> > Organization: Jan-Phyl TV > To: Yahoogroup-TV <tv-repair@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > > sorry about attachment,I have two PC's networked and > I did not set > preferences to plain text.It is now. > > -------- Original Message -------- > Subject: Vcr, RCA VR678HF (fcc# G954255195) dead,P.S > resistors I.D. > Date: Sat, 08 Sep 2001 10:35:01 -0400 > From: Philip Bader <philbad@xxxxxxxxxx> > Organization: Jan-Phyl TV > To: "CONSUMERELREPAIR-L@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" > <CONSUMERELREPAIR-L@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > > This is a beast to access the power supply. All one > board.
