I would probably agree with Damons ideas that Alignment might not be the "Silver
Bullet". Check the alignment first by checking all channel groups. They should
have the same sensitivity on all channels. Adjust the output of you generator
for a signal level that gives you a partial snow picture.

But if someone swapped the EEPROM in it life and never aligned it, you will have
to. You can tell this happened because all the values are 31. Or if the EEPROM
was stuffed with alignment data from another CTC185, you will still have to
align it anyway.
