Jose...

Be sure you have the cover on the unit while testing it. If shop lights get to
the start sensor...it will
trigger tape-in function.

Jeff

This it a 2000 model, the mode switch is solder to the main board. Beside i
found the location of the lose part. It was located on the right hand side
of the frame. Just underneath the cassette holder. it function was to
activate SW211. Now the vcr works but when you eject the tape and remove it
the vcr still thinks there is a tape inserted and pull back to load and shut
down the set. I have reset everything on the vcr but still does the same. I
was thinking of a defective tape end sensor but don`t have part #. Any help
or tips are appreciated.

Thanks

Jose
