DISREGARD comments on Flying erase head since (duh) this head erases
VIDEO and not audio. Must have had a brain glitch.

Panasonic Camcorder PV-A286 (similar PV-A306)
Problem- Does not record audio OR erase old audio. Will playback
previously recorded Audio. Video in all modes - fine.
Suspect Flying Erase head but - pulled drum and checked physically -
'looks' OK and do get small Ohm reading across terminals (2.6ohm)(Video
heads read 0.8)
Since the Audio (A/C) head plays back, figuring it is probably OK. Even
if the Erase head is bad, shouldn't I get some audio recorded over the
old audio ?
Mike is good- can hear thru monitor in Camera mode.
I know there are electronic switches to turn on FE head and to switch
from PB to REC in audio IC. Also that even if head is OK, pick-up of head
,may be bad.
Any had experince with this problem?
