Got power supply working - found bad resistor in primary (Duh!)
Unfortunately, still have no function; no display. All PS voltages seem
ok- do not have 3.5v on display ends. Do have VCC on front micro.
Do I have to go thru main micro to see if Power-on switches, etc? Already
spent too long on this one.
Any 'secrets'

JVC VCR HR-VP 653U (Same as 654) Dead- no power; no display
Replaced Q1, Q2 and reg IC (5301?) with known good ones. Have primary
voltages but nothing in secondary. Q1 has 'collector' voltage (actually
it is MOSFET marked DGS and I don't remember which is the center leg)-
but no pulsing.
Have been all over the components in the secondary - could not find
shorted component. Have had a couple of this chassis with bad micros but
power was OK
Anything specific to look for?
