Clint, I found an inexpensive, $49.00, program to create PDF files and
downloaded the trial version to try it out. The file size for 1/2 of the
schematic page is 217K and the other 1/2 is 180K, I also scanned as much of
the full schematic as my scanner would see and ended up with a 941K file
that way. Anyway here is the web site if you or anyone else wants to take a
look and try it out.

It may take some time for some to get used to it to figure
out the correct dpi and compression settings for specific
files, in order for the pdf file you create to properly be
'zoomed in' on. You always want the dpi to be as low as it
can go and compression settings to max for the smallest file
size. If you don't, the files will be HUGE, much larger than
any jpeg. Each time you create a pdf file this CAN (but not
always) be different. So, it takes some toying with it's
settings to get the smallest file size Vs quality.
