Al, I'd say that likely the poor people may be better off in Canada but
the rich people better off in the US. Our income tax here is very high
if you are wealthy, and even so if you're not. A popular saying is that
Canadians work from January to July for the government and the rest of
the year is for ourselves. When we travel to the US, we can take out
Blue Cross or some other insurance for each day spent there. Last time I
went it was $6.00 a day. Maybe up to $10.00 or more now. That pretty
well covers anything that could happen including death.
