[TechAssist] Emerson TS2750D, STR51041 repeat failure and runs hot

Would anyone have an idea on this problem? The set seems to work ok but the
regulator IC, STR51041 seems very hot. The case temp gets up about 70 c
after 30 minutes or so, that's about 158 f. The data sheet shows the max
operating temp as 125 c or 257 f. Well within specs but still pretty hot. It
has failed twice along with two transistors and two resistors. Capacitors
have been checked and/or replaced also.
