Mark,
Do you shop at Cumberland Electronics down there?
They have a tool for stripping RG6 and RG59, works well, once you get the hang 
of it.
You can tell how much to strip simply by holding they cable next to the 
connector, just leave about 1/8 of
an inch. If part of the conductor is sticking out, I snip it.
