Forgot one thing...you can also check those low ohm resistors while checking
caps for ESR.
You can also check inductance...though I haven't perfected this one, yet.
Checks yoke for shorted windings....talk about versatile.

If had to choose between my Fluke 12 multimeter and my Dick Smith ESR
meter I would probably choose the ESR meter. It has proved invaluable
in checking caps in circuit. Just contact any of the electronic parts
shops in Britain to see if they carry it. If nobody carries it, look
into selling them yourself. Every tech HAS to have one! By the way,
where is Newcastle upon Tyne? =20

Hi, need a little advice about Dick Smith's Capacitance Meter.
Been recommended to me. Need a meter that can detect bad caps IN
CIRCUIT.
I waste too much time messing about here.
Any bad things regarding this meter? Seems to be too good to be true!
Told that it is about =A335 and is as good as some of the =A3100 plus
meters!!
Is this true.
Need to know if there is a place in the UK that I can get this item as I
do
not want to pay a fortune on shipping to England, UK (eg from
Australia!!).
Also price etc.
