We repaired a mechanism problem in a 1990 Sony CCD-TR4 camcorder. Customer brought it back a week later complaining that it would not always record or stop recording. Found that the record switch element was intermittant. Looked mashed in like it had been pressed too hard. Unfortunately, the record switch element is permanently attached by a ribbon cable to the control switch block and the zoom switch assembly. An $82 part if still available, and customer wont put any more money into this old unit. Does anybody have one of these in their boneyard? Same switch block is used in the Sony CCD-TR45, the Nikon VN300, and the Kyocera KX-70U. Sony part no. 1-466-382-21.
