Hi Warren, I don't want to drag this on. I understand the challenge to fix the unit. I have a name brand Dewalt 9 volt drill. One of the batteries went dead and I threw it away and realized afterwards could have fixed it. Any way the replacement battery was $50 which I did not buy. Name brand is not what it used to be! Two weeks ago I bought a 12 volt drill with two batteries at Canadian Tire in Sarnia. (not kidding). What would that work out to in U.S dollars! Almost as good a deal as Max. It works great still can't get over the price. Bruce.
