Damon,

This is exactly the kind of debate that we should be having, without all of
the recriminations and bluster.

It seems to me that the diode will not have anything to rectify (that would
matter much) because the caps will be passing the signal.

I agree, however, that the best solution is to use the right cap, other than
for testing.
