Screen voltage may not be accurate reading with a meter, but when I
connect the lead for screen to CRT board, drops down to about 1.5 volts,
disconnected it's about 150 volts. This is with CRT board on or off CRT.

Jim Myers suspects short in CRT socket, which makes sense. These spark
gaps must have a common ground I can disconnect.

Ed, the screen voltage is hard to read, as most all of our meters would
load it
down. very hi-impedence circuit.
CRT short??
Didn't someone mention a way to "blast clear "some types of CRT shorts
by a
jumper lead from a voltage source within the set over to the CRT base
pins (CRT
board removed!).
